Google introduces new tool for planning Online Ads

Google wants to make it easier for marketers to pick appropriate Web sites for their online ads with a new tool it announced Tuesday called Ad Planner. It seems that Google is moving into the Web measurement market to compete against companies like Nielsen Online, comScore, Quantcast and Hitwise.

Using Google Ad Planner, you can quickly create media plans and export to a .csv file, which can be opened in most spreadsheet applications. Or, you can export to DoubleClick’s MediaVisor, which helps you manage all your other media planning, buying and campaign management activities.

For now, those interested in using Ad Planner need to submit a request to Google.

This seems to be a great tool for the organized media planners. Not for small time advertisers.

Dont think it will be great success for unprofessional bloggers. Maybe for special blogging companies.

Google needs to stop being a PITA about their adsense. I got blocked for god knows what reason and they won’t even hear my appeal. I know several people with similar experiences. I’m not impressed.

AdPlanner seems like a geat tool!

To the above commenter, I guess most people get blocked for a reason… but Iv often wondered, is it possible to get someone blocked/banned just by cliking on their ads too much eg. getting them a CTR of 40% or such :).

“information about sites (both on and off the Google content network) that your audience is likely to visit.”

Hm, I wonder how accurate that information will be… speacially with small countries and such.

I agree with Mike Johnson. It can be very difficult to abide by google’s webmaster guidelines simply because they refuse to tell you what you did to break them.

I personally use Yahoo and the Yahoo people are always very quick to help. But its great the Google has one more search engine tool that I won’t be able to use.

Google Ad Planner comes in a beta version and is fully free. I haven´t seen the tool yet, you have to sign up to get it, but if it is as good as they say…Well let´s see. The feature where you type in demographic and sites associated with my clients target audience is amazing. It will really save time for me and my colleagues.

    Well done Google!
