The future of SEO Freelancing

The graphical data from the oDesk network about SEO shows the month-wise number of new SEO jobs added to their freelance network.
The future of Search Engine Optimization is quite bright now with more online businesses depending on traffic from search. That is why SEO has grown more than just tricking search engines. I would expect the SEO future to focus on organic optimization, social media optimization, link baiting, building standards-compliant websites and publishing relevant fresh content as often as possible… and SEO freelancers definitely has a huge role to play in each of them.

being a SEO worker myself, i try to make it fair. if you want to change the world to the best, you shall start from yourself! and as a result, people are more likely to deal with you if you are not trying to fool them.. to my mind, creating viral content is the most fair and effective way of getting links. the more we try to be frank and open, the better optimisation process goes.) so, this is how i see SEO future))

I think SEO is a field into it’s self where as black hat or white seo is short term help. Search engines will consider the site spammy after some time or even cut the pagerank. I had 2 blogs with the same pagerank and traffic. One was seo strickt. The other black and white hat. Both blogs where getting linked to from quality sites…My point, the nice blog had only a thousand backlinks, the tricky blog had 3 times that amount and still same pagerank…Google prefered the nice blog…

It is a good question as to whether or not we hit a point of saturation or not. I think the whole SEO field still has a lot of room for growth. It is becoming way more common for even smaller companies to spend money on SEO.
I really hope to see it expand, because I love working with SEO and hope to make a living in this area.

Making a good site is not enough to get success in internet marketing field. Search Engine Optimization is also crucial part in internet marketing. I see blackhat as purely temporary measure and SEOs doing it are always on the run from Google. If you are paying out for blackhat SEO, you’re gonna need a SEO consultant always at hand because its only a matter of time before Google find ands neutralisers current blackhat methods, plus penalising you for the use of them.

I agree that the future for seo is bright as more and more individuals and companies are turning to ecommerce. The competition itself will drive the demand for effective SEO Freelancers and companies through the roof. I don’t know about the demand for Black Hat as someone would have to be willing to risk getting penalized to reap the rewards for their business.

To be honest I don’t trust SEO freelancers simply because it’s hard to check if they do a good job or not. If we are talking about a bigger company I can google and see what people think about them, what clients they had and so on.
I did try to hire a SEO freelancer once and that’s why I’ve got this bad opinion. We agreed on a price and then among others I asked him what he was going to do. At first he didn’t want to share his secrets. Then he started to explain to me how he can feed search engine better optimised pages with all the right keywords and yet not show then to the average user as it would look bad. I couldn’t beleave what I was hearing. That sounds like cloaking/doorway pages too me.
That guy wasn’t just anybody I picked up. He was actually recommended by a friend. And ofc since he wasn’t a seo company I couldn’t check to much before hiring him. I got burned
