I keep reading tweets and news articles either questioning, or in some cases flat out stating that blogging is dead. I’m here to say that regardless of what other websites have to say about this, blogging is not dead. Most of the articles point to Twitter or Facebook as the new craze. These sites definitely add to the social experience of the web, and add value to social media. Blogging may be on the decline as web usage changes over time, but blogging is here to stay.

I have a big dilema about building an mailing list. I have never used email marketing for my business, but I use it very successfully for one non-profit organization. All members of this mailing list are registered because they want to receive notifications about the events organized by this non-profit organization.
Now, I am going to implement mailing list to my affiliate directory. People will have the option to enter their email if they want be notified about new residual income affiliate programs. So far, I believe it is the right step. However, as I read in many forums people usually collect email addresses by offering some freebies in exchange for the registration to the mailing list. Since these people are interested in the freebie I think they will not add personal email address but some email which they never use. So, does anybody know the difference in the results of the email campaigns between these 2 different ways how to get subscribers?

Mailing lists can often help, i’ll admit that. However think about the other end for a minute, the people getting the emails. I don’t know about you, but I hate getting spam messages, and mailing lists often account to spam at some point if you send out too many offers. People often join these lists then forget they did and mark messages as spam, i’ve done it myself a few times.
