Benefits of SEO over Paid Search

If you are looking long-term results then online marketing Organic Search Engine Optimization is the solution for you. On the contrary for fast effective results there is nothing to beat Pay Per Click Listings. It would be prudent to use both services to get maximum control over their key phrases, but the advantages of the optimization should not be minimized.

Organic Search Engine Optimization
With organic SEO methods you can add value to the brand and increase your visibility on search engines with much lower output. Reports say that the type of click through advertising is up 70% organic. It is also a well known fact that users opt for organic listings search sponsored listings in most cases. Once you’ve optimized your site correctly and listed on search engines that you can be assured of receiving quality traffic long lasting.

Natural or organic search optimization is a long stressful process of writing the content involvement, onpage optimization and link building. But if you are looking for profitable long after organic seo is a must and will allow your site to stand out among other competitors PPC. In most cases you only have to pay a fee up front time unlike the pay-per-click advertising.

Pay Per Click (PPC)
With pay per click methods, you need to have enough capital to spend. The more higher you bid, the higher they appear among sponsored links. One advantage is that you have better control with the methods by pay per click regard to conversions. Also monitor and measure the ROI (return on investment) will be more organized with CFP compared to SEO.

PPC marketing can also think of marketing, low risk as you are in control of every penny you spend. You will be able to achieve good results with proper maintenance of your PPC campaigns, but the disadvantage of this type of marketing is that you only see in search engines, provided they invest in it. PPC is also known to attract click fraud, fraud click varies from 10% to 40% depending on the type of industry and keyword.

Conclusion

Identify and recognize the unique benefits between each route will be a balance between these disparate elements. In any case, your goal should be to achieve high yield sales.

PPC is great in the beginning, while you’re website is still very fresh and not ranking very well. Over time, SEO efforts will work well, and then, less money needs to be devoted to the PPC campaign. As a point of branding, I think its probably best to have your name show in the sponsored search section, and the organic SERPS.

To summarize, a search engine is basically a database of indexes of webpages. Like how a library indexes its books, when you search in the library database for ‘Harry Potter’, it would return all the books related to Harry Potter. Similarly, when you search for Harry Potter, it would produce a list of webpages related to Harry Potter.

It is so hard for someone without financial resources to get noticed as a new blogger. Even more so if one has few skills to offer the public.

I am just wondering how many new online business people who need to have an income before they can afford something like pay per click actually survive.

In the real business world, only 20% of businesses last as long as 5 Years, and the 80% end up losing a lot of money. For example, I know of a small retail store that was in business for three years, and invested all of their savings ($100,000). All of that was spent satisfying government regulations, and by the time it was gone, there wasn’t anywhere near enough to pay what the State calls a use tax. That’s the tax for the privilege of using cash registers and cabinets in a business. It is paid even if the business is making zero dollars.

So, I can’t help but wonder what the difference is between physical location business and online businesses in terms of failing.

The numbers must be truly staggering in this recessionary climate.

But, I don’t know of any reliable source to find out what the chances are of success.

However, I disagree that it involves a lesser output because you have to invest in the time to rank well using organic methods. You have to invest in time and this costs you resources, too. Have you done studies on how to compare organic SEO and PPC in terms of costs? I’d be very interested in this.

Once adjusted the most important on page factors (no the link title), I stopped to see what metrics where going to tell me. And obviously there were big advancements. Then, as far as I wanted to correct some W3C issues, I put to all the Links the Title attribute. After the same period of weeks waiting, the metrics were not pointing to any real and substantial SEO plus. Therefore, I do not think that the TITLEs carry any weight/importance on the SEO side.

Long term you’ve got to work on SEO. The return on investment is much higher.

But like you said, paid search can give you a temporary bump if you need it, like when you first launch a site or product.

  134. Large Format Posters Said,

    February 11, 2010 @ 5:31 pm

I think everyone should try to get the best of both worlds. If each has worth then why not use both, it’s only logical. Though Organic search will always top PPC because firstly it is cheap and second it is longer lasting. In PPC you would need to have a big output but also get fast results. It won’t last forever though and the traffic will fade just as soon as your ads are off. So the optimum solution would be to get both. One should not be ready to spend a bit more than usual if you use PPC though, you went be able to control just how many would click on it. Though it is also considered as low cost marketing because you only get to pay per click, meaning you are sure that someone actually took the time to look at your product, or you know, just hover over it. Either way, you were still able to get a viewer’s attention. Although PPC doesn’t necessarily result to a conversion, once a click goes thru, you are on your own.

  135. SEO Online Marketing Said,

An investment in organic SEO provides benefits way into the future. With PPC, once the user clicks off of your website there is no lasting benefit from the money spent on that click.

  136. Search Engine Marketing for Translators Said,

With PPC I just seem to hemorrhage money no matter what I do. Organic SEO beats it hands down. With PPC you still have to put in the time, effort, testing etc, and imo that time and effort is best spent on SEO.

I am aware that PPC attracts click fraud, but that up to 40% of all clicks would be of that type can not be true. I have worked in the industry since 2003 and believe that 10% is a reasonable figure (usually lower). But whether the percentage is 10 or 40, you still get up to 90% “good” traffic.

I think that PPC and SEO complements each other very well.

PPC is great for turning revenue around when a site is in the lower ranks but the worst outcome needs to be thought on. What happens if that PPC budget ran dry and the site had no ranking in the search engines? Not only that, targeted traffic still comes via the Search Engines which means more business so SEO is also essential.

I myself have been into SEO for quite some while now and I do think it’s not that straightforward and easy. Any action that is easy will not long for long. Hence you either you need to make a solid marketing strategy or pay a hefty amount of money to a third party consultant to do the same for you.

I think you need to look at SEO as a longer term investment that PPC, SEO can be a slow and sometimes grueling process but solid organic rankings pay real dividends over time.

Many people make the mistake of paying for PPC from day one and constantly paying over and over again to stay near the top of the page. Invest time in SEO and you can have these top page rankings without spending a penny.

The technique that works best if you are a premium advertiser of course is to just get an advertisement on the top right below the fold. I think SEO should be used on every situation to create a positive image but PPC shouldn’t be ignored especially when there are derogatory terms or websites about your brand.

SEO is great once its built up.

Both working effectively together is much better than one of them by themselves.
