Google ads come to Video

Website owners will be given chance to share in revenue from ads that run alongside YouTube videos

Google now offers site owners who embed video clips from YouTube into their own sites the chance to make money through advertising. In an expansion of its AdSense platform, Google will allow web publishers to place YouTube videos that carry advertising on their sites. The website publisher will take a share of revenue when a visitor watches a clip and any associated ads.

The service would initially only be available to US-based sites that already use AdSense. Read more about it here…

Referral Ads by Google

I chose to use Google Adsense Referral Ads in a few of my sites, and it seems that my earnings have dropped way too-much. Out of my previous trials with all other systems, it was quiet clear that Google Ads are more relevant than any other publishing system. I read in 14thc that YPN ads (I dont have access, as it requires U.S. Social Security to sign-up) doesn’t help too.

Following are a few reasons for diminishing returns from Referral Ads…

  • Cost per conversion rate fixed by some advertisers are too low. I earned just $0.51 for three signup’s to a particular site.
  • There were 45 Clicks to an ad. without any conversion. If that advertising site doesn;t convert well, then I’m at the receiving end.
  • Selecting a few advertisers through shopping cart, is actually restricting other high bid ads from appearing in my sites.
  • The same set of ads seems to be showing again and again, which might not interest the users.

I’m now reviewing the sites and looking for the one’s that’ll give me a better returns before switching on to CPC ads again.
